Giulio Venier

SRTI Program Manager

Giulio Venier is the Program Manager of the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI). The programme is part of the Aviation and Maritime Team of Smart Freight Centre (SFC).

As a Project Manager with 14+ years of experience working for a range of global companies, Giulio focuses his work on sustainability and stakeholder management. Giulio is also a licensed B Corp Certification consultant and the co-founder and board member of Creatives for Climate a non-profit organization that brings together thousands of global professionals practicing collaboration to build a just and regenerative world.

Trained as a Materials Science engineer (MSc), he seamlessly transitioned to the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and technology. He is a guest lecturer on ‘Digital Transformation’ at the faculty of Industrial Engineering, University of Trieste.

Christoph Wolff

Smart Freight Centre CEO

Christoph Wolff is Chief Executive Officer of Smart Freight Centre.

Until the end of 2021, Christoph was a Member of the Executive Committee for the World Economic Forum, heading the Global Mobility platform that includes the Forum´s initiatives around sustainability and digitization in the supply chain, automotive, aviation and aerospace industry. Before, he was Managing Director of the European Climate Foundation 2014-18, following 16 years at McKinsey as a Senior Partner heading the global travel, logistics and infrastructure practice.

As Board member of DB Schenker, Christoph was responsible for the international growth and operations of the company’s rail division. He has been the CEO of companies in the renewable energy sector. A chemical engineer by training from Universities of Aachen and Zurich, Christoph is on the Board of several energy start-ups and Honorary Professor in Energy and Resource Economics at the University of Cologne and Visiting Professor at the HSG St. Gallen, teaching in Mobility and Sustainability.

Julia Gornostajeva

Maritime Program Coordinator

Julia Gornostajeva is the Maritime Program Coordinator at Smart Freight Centre (SFC). She currently coordinates three maritime-related programs, i.e., the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI), Clean Cargo, and Global Ro-Ro Community.

Previously, Julia worked in e-learning and communications, as well as video course production. Building on her Communication Science (MSc) degree, Julia has been continuously developing her interpersonal, organizational, and management skills to coordinate and support the success of SFC’s programs. Having personal and work experience within the maritime industry allows Julia to view things from different perspectives, thus being able to understand and connect various stakeholders.
