We are pleased to announce that Ocean Network Express (ONE) has officially become a signatory to the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI), reinforcing its leadership in promoting safe, responsible, and transparent ship recycling practices. As ONE continues to grow its owned fleet, the company is deepening its commitment to sustainability through the implementation of a formal Ship Recycling Policy

This policy ensures that all ONE-owned vessels are recycled exclusively at certified and compliant facilities in line with international standards—prioritizing human safety, environmental protection, and regulatory adherence.

By becoming a signatory to the SRTI, ONE joins a global community of shipowners that voluntarily disclose their ship recycling approaches, thereby increasing accountability and raising the bar for industry-wide practices.

The development of our Ship Recycling Policy, together with our participation in the SRTI, marks a meaningful step forward in our ‘Clean Ship Recycling’ initiative – one of the seven key pillars of ONE’s Green Strategy,” said Michimasa Noda, Senior Vice President, Sustainability at ONE.

This announcement comes ahead of the enforcement of the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC) on 26 June 2025, and signals ONE’s alignment with global efforts to embed sustainability across the full lifecycle of shipping assets.

We welcome ONE as an SRTI signatory and commend their transparency and proactive leadership in advancing sustainable shipping.
